Looking for Canadian Moms
Hi! I'm new to this website. My name is Candy Crillesen, I'm originally from Edmonton, Alta but now living in Brøndby Strand for the last 6 months with my Danish husband and 2 toddlers and baby on the way. I was wondering if there are any other stay at home moms that would be interested in getting together once a week for kid friendly outings or just a play date at my house. If interested in doing someting like this or just to tell me there is already something like this going on please feel free to email candy27nitro@yahoo.ca or you can find me on facebook.Foreigners in Denmark (new site for expats)
www.ForeignersinDenmark.dkForeigners in Denmark is an online community designed to facilitate intercultural communication, interaction and friendships between Danes and foreigners living in Denmark. We provide useful resources in English to help newcomers in learning and understanding the Danish culture. The site includes information about moving to Denmark, finding work, getting permits and finding out what's going on. Check it out!
Canadian TV in DK! (or anywhere else for that matter)
Hey everyone,So I made a wonderful discovery, and thought I should spread the knowledge. It is possible to have full access to Canadian TV/satellite through the internet! My husband back home bought this receiver box (called a slingbox) that can either be plugged into a satellite TV receiver or cable TV. The box is then also connected to the internet, and through a player called slingplayer (that you can download free on the internet). It is possible to control the channels and watch TV from anywhere in the world. The only thing is that you need someone back in Canada who is willing to let you take over the remote from time to time ;-). The receiver costs about $180 CAD and we bought it at Future Shop. Thought it could be interesting to others who maybe aren't avid fans of Danish television! (And if you have the satellite, you can record programs and watch them later.)

They run weekly on Saturdays, starting at 2:30pm from a meeting point as shown on the website. You don't need to be in good shape; more than half of the group will be walking.
Hashing is great way to meet interesting people from around the world, of diverse backgrounds. We have some Canucks as well! Contact me if you like to know more about it.
