Free book for people wanting to move to Denmark
The Danish Chamber of Commerce has published a free, 52-page booklet describing the rules for moving to Denmark - finding work, getting used to the culture, customs at work, salary and taxes, finding accommodation, etc.You can download a PDF version as follows:
Go to http://expatindenmark.com/
See "Expat in Denmark News" and look for the new publication "Living and Working in Denmark - An Expat Perspective".
I've started a discussion about its points in the Discussion Forum, but you have to register on the site to contribute.

Waiting period
Hey all. So March 14, 2009 was my wedding date, YAY. I'm now an Andersen...oh god...!We just have to get our Family Reunification papers ready to send, and then we wait. I know what the stated waiting period is, but I wanted to know how long some of you actually DID wait.
Married 5 days, and had to leave for Canada. I can't wait to get back to have a normal life now.
Hockey
Hi allI'm looking to make some new friends and join a hockey team... Can anyone here give me any advice on that?? I've got all my gear and ready to go. Would prefer a team with lots of Canadians.... Cheers!

Canadian Companies
Hi AllI have just started a job search and part of the search includes looking for Canadian companies operating in Copenhagen.
I have been in touch with the Canadian Embassy and even though they know who operates here, it is not part of their service to make that information available.
Does anyone have another source for this information?
Thanks
Kevin
Working situation
After the marriage, and obtaining the initial acceptance into Denmark, how long until a foreigner can work? Do you have to wait until after the final Danish exam and permanent residency, or can work be obtained asap? Many thanks!

Danish Marriage
Hi all,I was recently married in DK to my Danish husband. Now I'm back in Montreal to continue my studies. Do I have to register my marriage in Canada? If so, who do I notify?
Thanks a lot.
Paperwork...WOOHOO
Well after 5 years, 3 of which was spent travelling, my handsome Dane and I are getting hitched courthouse style. Before I visit in December, I will need a form that states I'm not, or was not, married. I was thinking of going to Human Resources and Development. Does someone know for sure?
Much appreciated!

Racism/discrimination in Denmark
Hi all, I've been reading many stories on how foreigners are having difficulting to live and find job in Denmark, because some Danes do not welcome immigrants. Apparently it is difficult to integrate with Danes because they are very private people, who don't seem want to be bothered by foreigners.Did anyone had a bad experience while living in Denmark? How can one become a real "Dane" and interact with the dominant society?
